Gynaecology Services

Dr Miller can assist you in all aspects of women’s health and gynaecology and provide a wide range of services:

Total Vaginal Hysterectomy

This procedure will remove the cervix and the uterus. A Vaginal Repair or treatment for Stress Urinary Incontinence may be performed at the same time. Ovaries and tubes may be removed during Laparoscopically Assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy. Common reasons include heavy periods, pelvic pain, fibroids.

Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy

The advantages of this laparoscopic method are faster recovery time, fewer stitches, and shorter hospital stay.

Tubal Reanastomosis

This procedure will rejoin previously separated (clamped) Fallopian Tubes.

Endometriosis

A condition where endometrial tissue is found outside of the uterus. Pelvic pain and dyspareunia are common. Treatment include medical and surgical approach.

Fibroids

Fibroids are of smooth muscle origin (despite their name) and are often multiple. They may cause menorraghia, subfertility, recurrent spontaneous miscarriage, pelvic pain, urinary symptoms.

Ovarian Cysts

They may be normal or abnormal. Normal (physiological) ovarian cysts develop in every woman in every cycle in association with the process of ovulation.

Midwife care

Our friendly midwife is on hand for you to call for advice throughout your pregnancy and have your first check- up with, separate to first doctor’s visit and later 16 week pregnancy review with.

Naprotechnology

Naprotechnology service offering an Effective, more natural alternative to IVF. The specialized service performs Comprehensive Menstrual Cycle Evaluation, Investigation and Treatment for Infertility, Premenstrual Syndrome, plus Prevention of Preterm Birth and Recurrent Miscarriage.

Laparoscopy

This is a procedure of visualisation of the internal organs and may be combined with removal of ovarian cyst, division of adhesions, to assist with vaginal hysterectomy or the treatment of endometriosis.

Vaginal Pelvic Floor Repair

This is a procedure for repair of prolapse of the vagina and/or uterus. A treatment for Stress Urinary Incontinence may be performed at the same time. Full vaginal prolapse may be treated with mesh or individual sutures to resupport the vagina to strong structures in the pelvis (Sacrocolpopexy, Sacrospinous Colpopexy), or Le Fort procedure for elderly non sexually active patients.

Colposcopy

This is a procedure of visualisation of cervix under magnification in case of abnormal PAP smear. You may require a biopsy, where a small sample of tissue is sent off for testing.

LLETZ

Large Loop Excision of Transformation Zone is a removal of small segment of the cervix for the diagnosis and management of abnormal cell growth.

Chronic Pelvic Pain

This is a pain which lasts for more than six months. Common gynaecological reasons include pelvic inflammatory disease, ovarian cysts, adenomyosis, endometriosis, pelvic vein congestion (pelvic varicose veins).

Gynaecological Oncology

Normally cells devide to produce more cells only when the organ needs them. Cancer occurs when cells keep dividing and forming more cells without control. Cancer is treated with surgery, radiation therapy, hormone therapy, chemotherapy. We are working in collaboration with Professor Alex Crandon, Gynaecological Oncologist, who will review and perform surgery either at St Vincents Hospital in Toowoomba or Brisbane Private Hospital on Wickham Terrace in Brisbane.
